East Islip is a hamlet and census-designated place on the South Shore of Long Island in the Town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York. The East Islip Union Free School District serves the residents of the hamlet.

East Islip was named after the birthplace of the aristocrat, William Nicoll, who bought the land the hamlet occupies im 1693. Heckscher State Park offers several amenities, including hiking trails, a marina and boat launch, a beach on the Great South Bay and a pool.

According to the 2010 census, the population of East Islip is 14,712. The median household income is listed as $92,929.
